Oral Exams "Perception": Literature Recommendations

Literature Recommendations:

Eysenck, M. W., & Keane, M. T. (2010). Cognitive Psychology: A Student's Handbook (6th Edition or higher). Hove: Psychology Press. → Chapters 2-5.

Macmillan, N. A., & Creelman, C. D. (2009). Detection Theory: A User's Guide (2nd Edition). New York: Psychology Press. → Chapters 1-4.

This is the literature I recommend for the oral exam in the „Perception“ module. PDFs of the book chapters can be found in the OLAT course of the „Lab Rotation Perception“. As usual, you find the access code on our homepage.

Oral exams are designed to cover only the classes you actually took. The material in „Vision made difficult parts 1 & 2“ and all the specialized research papers in „Visual Attention & Awareness“ are not part of the exam. Please focus on those topics that have actually been discussed in the respective classes you took, because only those can be topics in the exam.

IMPORTANT: Each oral exam starts with a research paper that forms the point of departure for the rest of the exam. Those research papers are individually appointed by the examiner when the date of the exam is set. To be assigned your research paper, you have to contact your examiner. Please don't forget to register for your exam in QIS.
