Project description: Considering active digitization projects, the construction industry seems yet a mostly unconquered field. The goals of the ConWearDi project are to progress the development of digital services and processes in construction work. Aim of the project is the design and prototype implementation of a platform capable to capture and analyze the current state of construction work via diverse digital technologies and to provide useful informational support not only for the managers and architects but directly to the construction workers and craftsmen on site. The main project goals can be summarized as:

(1) Creation of a Digital Twin, a representation of the construction site, which always reflects its current state

(2) Centralized system for managing the construction site

(3) Automatic documentation for knowledge- and quality management purposes

(4) Exploration of new business models

(5) Development of methods for monitoring the activities of different worker groups with wearable technologies

(6) Overall: that all developments are accepted and with high usability for the target group

In the subproject “Demands, cognition and evaluation”, the Center for Cognitive Science will collect usability data (e.g. communication details, cognitive abilities, mental demands, acceptance) that will assist the development of a target group-adequate technological system. Through a person-centered human-computer-machine interaction evaluation, the level of acceptance and usability of the ConWearDi-System will be optimized.
